Gillan Doty is a potter living and making in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Using soda and wood fired kilns, he creates work that evokes functionality and simplicity. His interest in potting began in his early teens, making pottery in school and at local art centers where he grew up in rural New England. Gillan has been in a number of group shows at Maine College of Art, as well as other galleries throughout New England. He is currently undergoing a year long residency as a Fogelberg Fellow at the Northern Clay Center.
